Napa Transportation
From walking it to a trolley ride, and all the cabs and limos in between, here's how to get from here to there while you're staying at AVIA's Napa Valley hotel.
Airports
Oakland Airport - Oakland is the closest airport and shortest trip, if a less-scenic one. Most visitors to Napa Valley rent cars; the Evans Airport bus costs about $30 and can deliver you to the hotel for slightly more. The trip takes less than 1.5 hours.
San Francisco Airport - Most visitors to Napa Valley rent cars; the Evans Airport bus costs about $30 and can deliver you to the hotel for slightly more. The trip takes less than 1.5 hours. A cab or limo is about $150.
Sacramento Airport - Sacramento is a favorite of Napans because there is less traffic. A rental car is required.
Taxicabs
A number of taxicab companies serve Napa and Napa Valley but it's best to have the concierge arrange for them in advance. Local fares are reasonable. The elegant way to travel is Black Tie Taxi, which uses black Lincoln Town Cars.
A cab ride to Yountville is about $20, to St. Helena $50.
Public Transportation
Napa Valley's Vine public transit system offers inexpensive trips to all Napa Valley towns as well at the Vallejo Ferry Terminal for trips to San Francisco.
Baylink Ferry
While visiting Napa, you might want to spend a day in San Francisco and there's no nicer way to do that than on the Baylink Ferry. It leaves from Vallejo about a 30 minute drive from AVIA (There's also a public bus), but is the fastest and most scenic way to reach San Francisco's Ferry Building downtown. It's also far less hassle and cheaper than the parking, valet and tolls you'd pay to drive.
