Art. Like Florence during the Renaissance, Napa Valley is fortunate to have wealthy patrons of the arts who share their riches with others. The highlights include the di Rosa Preserve with thousands of avant garde works, Donald Hess' private collection open to the public at the Hess Collection winery, Jan Shrem's collection at Clos Pegase Winery, plus the Mumm and Turnbull winery galleries of art photography and art at many other wineries all over the valley. The valley also supports many art galleries and boasts hundreds of artists working in all media, and they highlight their work during twice-yearly open house art tours.
