Chardonnay Golf Club
www.chardonnaygolfclub.com

Chardonnay Golf Club is a 18-hole semi-private golf facility located Southeast of the city of Napa in Jamieson Canyon at the gateway to the world renown Napa Valley wine district. Unlike virtually all courses today, Chardonnay’s golfers are not asked to play amidst any private residences. Our 18-holes of semi-private championship golf offer a variety of challenges for players of all skill levels. The 18-hole layout features the Vineyards/Meadows. The 18-hole layout  meanders through over 150 acres of Chardonnay and Merlot Vineyards and feature numerous lakes and creek crossing, a wide variety of native flora and fauna.

Several areas of the property are designed as wildlife preserves and are dedicated to maintaining wildlife habitat among the vineyards and fairways. Sharing the property with the golfers are several species of birds including hawks, kites, kestrels, hummingbirds, and an occasional golden eagle. In the early morning or late evening hours rabbits, squirrels, foxes, our bobcat family on #7 Meadows and many other "critters" stroll through the fairways.

The Chardonnay Golf Club food and beverage staff can assist you with any and everything from breakfast to box lunches, banquets to bridal ceremonies. Annually we host a large number of bridal ceremonies and receptions combined with golf. These have created memories to last a lifetime in one of the most visually dramatic environments anywhere. Our staff truly knows how important these moments are and your entire party shall notice their true talent and commitment.

Angela Tirrell + Chandra Cerrito/Art Advisors LLC
www.chandracerrito.com

AVIA Napa interiors’ architect and designer, Colum McCartan had the early vision to extend AVIA’s passion for local ingredients to include a featured lobby mural. Colum connected to Angela Tirrell through the Napa-based art advisor Chandra Cerrito.  Their aim was to highlight the work of a local artist who could capture the region’s unique sense of place.  Tirrell painted the mural entitled Afternoon on site over a period of five weeks.

“When I was six I was made the guardian of a tiny pine sapling that was planted for me on our farm in Bolinas.  When we drove from the City to the farm weekends I looked forward to seeing my tree, and during the dry season I would worry that the little sapling might die.  In this time I fell in love with trees.  Driving in California one sees family stands of oak trees, and also lone giants on the hills.  The giant never seems lonely – it has squirrels and insects by day, owls and foxes by night and sometimes people picnic underneath.” Angela Tirrell, May 2009

The mural Afternoon is a portrait of a large oak from the artist's memory.  At the base of the hill, the texture is almost like that of roots in the soil.  The hill and tree were painted with hands, rather than brushes – an echo of planting .

Angela Tirrell divides her time between San Francisco and Napa.  After graduating from Georgetown University, she attended art schools in New York and London, where she earned a diploma in decorative painting from the Pardon School.  She later studied with renowned San Francisco Bay Area artists Squeak Carnwath and Christopher Brown.  Tirrell has had numerous gallery and museum exhibitions, and she has been commissioned to create murals throughout the United States and Europe.  Her notable projects include the Trump Parc Hotel in New York City and the Nuova Porziuncola Shrine in San Francisco.
