  • High 68°
  • Low 46°

Packing Tips

During your stay at AVIA's Long Beach hotel you'll want to dress in layers. Think t-shirts, light sweaters, jackets, and jeans. Plus you'll want to pack some comfortable walking shoes. Nighttime tends to be chilly, so a heavier jacket or sweater may be required.

When it Rains

Rain? Hardly. But every now and then Long Beach will experience light rain and, on occasion, a downpour. When that happens you're only a few blocks from the Aquarium of the Pacific and its menagerie of sea life.

March to June

  • High 78°
  • Low 50°
  • Cool mornings and pleasant afternoons

Packing Tips

Morning skies tend to be cloaked in a marine layer of fog. Layered clothing is your best option as you can peel away the layers as the fog gives way to sunshine. Nights are still a bit cooler, especially when the wind blows off the ocean, so pack a light jacket or sweatshirt when staying at our Long Beach hotel.

When it Rains

Spring showers are always a possibility, but unlikely. In the event you feel rain drops, you're just 1,765.5 (shoe size 10 1/2) steps from The Pike at Rainbow Harbor and its collection of shops, restaurants and entertainment.

July to October

  • High 84°
  • Low 58°
  • Warm and Wonderful

Packing Tips

It's California casual all the way. You'll want to be clad in short, sleeveless tops, golf shirts, and sundresses. Sandals and flip flops are always in style, but make sure they're comfortable enough to walk in. Pack a pair of sunglasses and plenty of sunscreen. Nighttime still calls for a shrug or light jacket, ideal attire for a romantic gondola ride around Naples Island.

When it Rains

The only thing that is wet this time of year is the ocean and hotel pool.

November to December

  • High 73°
  • Low 57°
  • Completely Enviable

Packing Tips

The mornings and evening tend to be cool and even a bit damp, so a lined jacket would be ideal. At night the air is brisk and the sky is clear creating ideal conditions for watching the sunset from atop the AVIA's rooftop pool. Gloves and scarves are unnecessary, unless you care to make a fashion statement.

When it Rains

Duck for cover aboard the Queen Mary. This former ocean liner turned historic attraction offers guided and self-guided tours, plus the ship's Observation Bar, frequented by such legendary passengers as Clark Gable and the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, sets the mood for sipping martinis.
